I'm 100% sure I did not come up with this idea, TBH is anything original any more? But I'd never seen it before. During the summer, I wanted a tasty cold alcoholic beverage to enjoy and came up with this. This was the perfect beverage for the summer. Just be careful, they don't taste very alcoholic and these drinks will sneak up on ya if you don't pace yourself. What's great about this drink is that it's so tasty and only requires 3 ingredients.
You can use any wine of your choice, my preferred tipple was Lambrini. I've been a Lambrini girl since before I was legal to drink, lol. Don't follow my choices kids. But the next time I make it, I will use one of my favourites Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato.
If you want a "virgin" slushy then you could use, tonic water, soda water, lemonade or appletiser instead of wine.
Ingredients:
350g Frozen Strawberries
350ml Wine, bubbly or still*
3 tablespoons Granulated Sugar**
Few cubes of ice, optional
Fresh Strawberries to garnish, optional
Method:
Throw all your ingredients into a blender and serve. If you want to be fancy, you could garnish the glass with a fresh strawberry.
Enjoy!
*Sweet alcohol works better in this recipe.
**Instead of sugar, you could make a simple syrup.
