Jamaican Rum Punch

Rum Punch, is a staple at any function in our family. A yummy tropical beverage, that will have you feeling like you're sunning yourself by the beach after one sip.

But I add a warning label to this drink. All the fruit juice will disguise how much alcohol is actually in this, so just be careful about how many you choose to knock back.

For that authentic hit of the islands use Wray and Nephew white rum. I did not have and W&N at the time I made this which really did affect the taste of the punch. It was nice, but W&N just hits differently.

This is such a straight forward recipe with only a few ingredients. I'll be honest though, I only use the recipe below as a guide. Like all my cooking, I cook by taste. For example the amount of rum I use may be too little or too much. Just taste as you go, because like I've said before, you can add but you can't take away, so just add gradually.

Ingredients:
250ml White Rum
500ml Orange Juice
500ml Pineapple Juice
50ml Tropical Syrup (or syrup of your choice)
2 Limes, juiced
Ice cubes

Method:
In a bowl or jug add in some ice cubes.

Pour in the orange and pineapple juice, the white rum and stir.
Add in the tropical syrup and stir.
Lastly add in the lime juice and give it one last stir.

You can leave the rum in the fridge overnight to really let the flavours develop or drink straight away.
