Rice Krispies Treats were a childhood fave. Yummy vanillary squares of melted marshamallows and rice krispies. Yum. You weren't one of the cool kids if you didn't have one of these in your lunch box.
They are super simple to make. And the best part is that they only needs 3 ingredients.
One thing I will say about the recipe, I will definitely use more butter because these tasted good but were on the dryer side.
Ingredients:
45g Butter
300g Mini Marshmallows
180g Rice Krispies
Method:
- In a saucepan, add the butter and melt over a medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted add in the marshmallows. Keep stirring until the marshmallows have completely melted.
- Add in the rice krispies and mix, making sure all the melted marshmallows have covered the rice krispies.
- Pour the mixture into a non-stick or lined tray and spread out the krispies into an even layer. Be sure not to squish them into the tin. You dont want them to be compact. Press them down lightly with your fingers.
- Leave them to set for about an hour and then cut into squares.
- Enjoy!
These will last for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
